Overview
The founder of Screenable, an ex-Google product lead, approached me to help bring their vision of a family-focused app to life. With a need for clear direction in both UX and UI, the client sought a design partner to collaborate closely and define a cohesive product experience.
Our world today
Children are gaining access to smartphones, social media, and the internet before they have developed the judgment, self-control, and digital literacy needed to navigate them safely. Traditional parental controls can block apps and restrict screen time, but they do little to teach children how to build healthy, responsible technology habits.
Screenable acts as a bridge between parents, children, and their devices. It combines parental controls with guidance and educational tools that help families introduce technology gradually, discuss online habits, and build trust over time.
Exploration & design direction
I worked closely with the founder, generating multiple explorations and concepts to refine the product direction.
My design contributions facilitated rapid prototyping, allowing the client to validate features, iterate quickly, and adapt product direction as needed.

I crafted detailed user flows, defined a cohesive visual style, and designed microinteractions and animations to enhance the app's usability and delight.
Layered throughout the product, that motion makes Screenable feel approachable for kids and parents alike, not only easy to use but genuinely enjoyable.
Educational tools to help parents stay informed
Beyond controls, Screenable gives parents context: plain-language guides on apps and online behavior, plus searchable, reviewable app information so families can make informed decisions together.
