Overview

TripWorks, a fast-scaling booking platform for tour and activity operators, needed UX/UI support to improve core user workflows and accelerate feature development for its growing base of clients across multiple industries.

Contextual action patterns that keep bulk operations close to a busy operator's schedule.

Designing for complex operations

Over a 12-month engagement, I delivered dozens of interactive prototypes, detailed walkthrough videos, and polished high-fidelity designs covering everything from complex booking flows to customizable admin configurations. My work ranged from seat map builders to conditional form logic and express checkout experiences.

TripWorks express checkout activity list with availability, pricing, and selection controls
TripWorks express checkout screen with available times, ticket quantities, order summary, and payment methods
TripWorks express checkout screen comparing activities and choosing a card or cash payment

Express checkout, from activity selection to payment, in three focused steps.

TripWorks point-of-sale flow for choosing an activity, time, and ticket quantities
TripWorks checkout for tickets, private upgrades, travel protection, and an order summary
TripWorks pickup and drop-off selection screen with private and shared transportation options

Booking journeys that flex with each operator: point of sale, add-ons, pickup and drop-off.

The hardest workflows, documented as build plans: seat map creation and configurable reporting.

Cutting development costs

My contributions were met with strong internal feedback and helped the team significantly cut development costs by eliminating ambiguity and rework.

TripWorks automated follow-up reminder settings with templates, timing, and recipient controls

Deep configuration kept scannable: role-based permissions and automated reminders.

Results

My designs served as clear build blueprints, earning strong praise from the product team and developers. The company significantly reduced development overhead by eliminating guesswork, resulting in faster rollouts and fewer revisions.

Developers were able to implement complex features with reduced ambiguity and rework. The startup no longer relied on developers to fill UX gaps, leading to faster time-to-market and a stronger overall product experience for trip operators.
