Coins and Awards let the community reward its own best contributions.
Reddit’s Awards system lets users recognize each other’s posts and comments: buy Reddit Coins, spend them on Awards for other users, and the awarded content is highlighted for everyone, with some Awards granting the recipient bonuses and perks.

The design lesson: peer-to-peer recognition turns your most engaged users into the engine of your reward system. The platform’s job is to make giving recognition feel meaningful and look visible.
