Sololearn

Coding courses where community and code challenges drive the loop.

Visit website

Sololearn pairs bite-size coding courses with XP, streaks, and competitive elements, but its distinguishing layer is community: learners discuss lessons, answer each other’s questions, and face off in code challenges.

That social fabric changes what the gamification is doing. Points and ranks give individual progress a shape, while the community gives it an audience, turning a solitary study session into participation in something with other people in it.

The design lesson: community can be the retention mechanic. Content gets exhausted and streaks get broken, but belonging is renewable, which is why social features often outlast point systems in holding learners.
