LifeUp is an Android to-do and habit system designed from the ground up as an RPG: completing tasks earns experience, develops character attributes, unlocks achievements, and pays out gold.
Its signature feature is the shop. Instead of a fixed reward catalogue, users create their own: price an episode of a show at 50 gold, a takeaway dinner at 300, and the economy becomes personal. That makes LifeUp closer to a game-design toolkit than a habit tracker, with the flexibility and the configuration burden that implies.
The design lesson: letting users author the reward economy multiplies their investment in it, because the incentives are ones they chose. The cost is a steeper learning curve, a trade-off any deeply customizable system has to own.
